THE CODE

A dealer texts you a code. Type it here in Google Chrome on this Mac. After the gate accepts it, you pick your disk and watch how to install.

GET THE DISK

Pick your Mac. The gate sends the disk. The same code will not work a second time. Then quit from the menu bar, open the disk, drag to Applications, Replace.

Which Mac

Apple M… or Intel Core.

Apple menu → About This Mac. Chrome on this Mac can light the match. Both stay up. The click posts the code and the disk name to this host.

After the download

Quit. Open. Replace.

Quit DJ Fetch from the menu bar if it is running. Open the disk image. Drag DJ Fetch to Applications. Click Replace. Songs stay in Music/DJ Fetch. Settings stay put.

If DJ Fetch is running, click DJ Fetch in the menu bar, then Quit.

Open the disk image

In Downloads, double-click the .dmg you just got.

Drag to Applications

Drag DJ Fetch onto the Applications alias in the disk window.

An item named “DJ Fetch” already exists in this location.

Click Replace

If the Mac asks, click Replace. Not Stop.

03 · If the Mac says it cannot verify

Do not Move to Trash.

The Mac may block the first open. Sequoia and Tahoe hid the old Control-click. The blue button on the sheet is Move to Trash. Click Done. Then Open Anyway.

04 · What stays

Songs stay. Settings stay.

Songs

MP3s stay in Music/DJ Fetch. Replacing the app does not touch them.

Settings

Config, history, and logs stay in Application Support. They survive the replace.
